About the Course

Course goal: This course provides learners with an awareness of the CoSHH regulations, and how they control work with hazardous substances.
Target Audience: This course is aimed at all personnel working in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Learning Objectives
LO1 Explain the CoSHH regulations and their applicability to the Oil and Gas Industry

LO2 Explain the legal obligations under CoSHH for both employees and employers, and explain the REACH regulations

LO3 Explain the health effects of working with hazardous substances, and the various ways that these can enter the body

LO4 Explain the use of Material Safety Data Sheets, Labels and Assessments within the CoSHH regulations

LO5 Explain the common labelling system and identify the standard symbols

LO6 Explain the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment

LO7 Explain requirements for storage, handling and disposal of hazardous substances

LO8 Define the control measures for handling hazardous substances and explain the control hierarchy

LO9 Explain the process for dealing with hazardous substances in the event of a spill

LO10 Define the recording and reporting process within the CoSHH Regulations
